“I never dreamt of being a wedding planner.”

I said I do on Coronado Island, that sliver of Southern California paradise. When the topic of hiring a wedding planner came up, my dad scoffed. “We don't need that.” My mom, in her wisdom, rebutted, "We are getting one." It was settled, and it was the best wedding decision we made. We hired a lovely English woman, Susanne Duffy of Crown Weddings. She made our experience so much less stressful. She even won my dad over. At the ceremony rehearsal, he whispered in my ear, “What would we have done without this woman!’ He was right; she ran the show all day long. Simultaneously, she managed every detail while guiding us. She created a magical experience for us all.

Filled with gratitude, I offered to help her with the next wedding. Within two weeks, she called to offer me the opportunity to assist. While reviewing the coordination packet, I realized I knew the bride! She was my sorority sister from the University of Colorado. (Yes, really.)

That serendipitous day launched a three-year apprenticeship in San Diego, where I worked alongside top-tier vendors at world-class venues. I learned fast, worked hard, and discovered that I possessed the gifts and talents required to be a great wedding planner. Weddings unlocked an unknown creativity within and problem-solving superpowers.

“It was a happy accident.”

When I traded San Diego sunshine for Colorado blue skies, I took every bit of that training and expertise to found JGreen Weddings. Since then, I've had the privilege of serving couples across Colorado and beyond — from the mountains to Manhattan to the streets of Chicago.

As a wedding planner, I wear many hats:

logistics, creative, counselor, problem solver, and idea factory, and project manager for a one-of-a-kind team of vendors who may only collaborate once—on your big day. I serve as the day-of point of contact, so you and your loved ones can stay fully present—taking in every moment of your celebration (especially your mom). Together with my team, we bring your vision to life—seamlessly executing all the planning and effort you’ve poured into your wedding.

Outside of weddings

When I’m not working on weddings, you’ll usually find me on a trail, a sailboat, or with the people I love. As a long-distance hiker, I explore the American Southwest. I recently completed a personal milestone: the one-day Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike. Off the trail, you can find me in San Diego as often as possible, where my sister and her family live. I value time with my nieces and nephew as well as sailing on San Diego Bay.

I met my best friends in 7th grade. Although we live in different states, we take several adventures a year exploring new places worldwide. I am happy to call my small Colorado suburb home, where I reside with my Australian Shepherd, Atticus.
